50 Personalised Christmas Gift Ideas for 2026
Fifty personalised Christmas gift ideas for everyone on your list, from grandparents and kids to couples and secret Santa, plus the dates you need to order by.

The best Christmas presents are rarely the most expensive ones. They are the ones that make someone stop, look twice and say, “Oh, you remembered.” A photo from a summer they had forgotten about. The year they got the keys to their first house. The name of the bar they have been building in the garage for three years.
That is what personalisation is for. Below are fifty ideas, grouped by who you are buying for, each with a suggestion for what to put on it. Almost everything here is made to order in the Laser & Ink workshop in Sowerby Bridge, in the Calder Valley, either laser engraved or printed in full colour. Use them as they are, or pinch the idea and make it your own.
One thing before you start scrolling: if you want it under the tree, keep an eye on the Christmas ordering dates further down.
Personalised Christmas gifts for mum
Mums are famously hard to buy for, mostly because they say they do not want anything. The trick is to give them something that is really about the family.
- A photo mug for her morning tea. Pick a photo of the kids (grown-up ones count) and add a line like “Mum’s Tea. Hands Off.” The personalised photo mug comes in eight handle colours, so you can match her kitchen.
- A photo necklace she can wear every day. A heart or circle photo pendant with a picture of her children or grandchildren. Choose a close-up so the faces stay recognisable at pendant size.
- The family holiday on slate. That one photo from the beach where everyone was actually smiling, printed onto a natural rock slate with a stand and a caption such as “Whitby · Summer 2026”.
- A crystal block for the mantelpiece. A crystal photo block with a favourite family picture and a short message. It catches the light beautifully next to the Christmas cards.
- A chopping board named after her kitchen. “Mum’s Kitchen · Est. 1989”, or the name of the dish everyone asks her to make. Our glass chopping board is printed on the underside, so knives cannot scratch the design.
- A big tumbler for the walk to work. The 40oz tumbler with handle, with her name over soft florals or leopard print. Ideal for the mum who is always meaning to drink more water.
- Four photos, four decades. A set of four photo coasters with a different picture on each: the kids as babies, as toddlers, at school, and now.
More ideas live in our personalised gifts for her collection.
Personalised Christmas gifts for dad
Dads tend to love things they can use, especially if they involve a drink, a barbecue or a shed.
- Beer mats for his home bar. Give the bar a name. “The Hutchinson Arms · Est. 2026” on a set of four engraved wooden beer mats, with a foaming pint, hops and barley or crossed tankards design.
- His own pint glass. A 20oz engraved pint glass with his name, a title (“Head Brewer”, “Chief Taster”) and a date. The frosted etch will not wash off.
- The dog, engraved in wood. A close-up of the family dog engraved into a wooden photo coaster, with the dog’s name curved around the top. Pet photos engrave really well when the fur contrasts with the background.
- An apron with a promotion. “Grill Sergeant” is a classic, but “Sunday Roast Supervisor” works just as well. The personalised apron takes a main line, a second line and an optional photo.
- A phone case with the people who matter. A photo phone case with the kids, the grandkids or his football team on the pitch. Double-check his phone model first.
- A keyring for the car keys. A metal photo keyring with “Drive safe, Dad x” and a picture he will see every morning.
- Something truly one-off. If he has a hobby nothing on a shop shelf covers, ask us about custom laser engraving: a wooden box for his fishing flies, a slate sign for the allotment shed, or a logo for his five-a-side team.

Personalised Christmas gifts for grandparents
Grandparents almost always want the same thing: more photos of the grandchildren. These ideas give them those photos in a form they will use and keep.
- The grandkids on Grandad’s mug. The photo mug with a recent picture of the grandchildren and “World’s Best Grandad” (or Grandma, Nana, Pops, whatever they are called in your house).
- Slate coasters for the side table. A set of four photo slate coasters with the same photo and a caption such as “Nana’s Favourites”. Heavy, rustic and properly heat-proof.
- One coaster per grandchild. If there are four grandchildren, the photo coaster set lets you give each one their own coaster. Arguments over who gets which seat at the table are not our responsibility.
- A bauble with this year’s photo. A photo Christmas bauble with all the grandchildren and “2026”. Do it every year and the tree slowly becomes a family album.
- Their wedding photo, engraved. Scan an old black and white wedding photo and have it engraved into a wooden coaster with “Est. 1972” underneath. Old photos often suit the warm brown tones of engraved wood.
- A crystal block for a big anniversary. If a ruby or golden anniversary lands next year, get ahead with a crystal photo block reading “Mum & Dad · 40 years”.
- Their garden on slate. Grandparents who live for their garden will love a photo slate of the roses in full bloom, captioned with the house name.
Personalised Christmas gifts for kids
Children love seeing their own name on things. These are the gifts that get pulled out every December, or used every single school day.
- A Santa sack with their name. The large personalised Santa sack with a “Special Delivery” design and their name. Saves a lot of wrapping on Christmas Eve.
- A stocking that comes out every year. A personalised Christmas stocking in snowy reindeer or gingerbread, with their name in festive lettering.
- A hoodie with their pet on it. A photo hoodie in kids’ sizes, with the family cat, the hamster, or their own drawing scanned in.
- A water bottle that does not get lost. The insulated water bottle with their name and a small line underneath, such as their class or football team.
- A pencil case for the new term. A name pencil case with dinosaurs, rainbows, stars or football, ready for January.
- A notebook for their big ideas. An A5 notebook titled “Top Secret Inventions” or “Stories by Max”. Brilliant for kids who are always drawing.
- A little apron for a little baker. The kids’ size personalised apron with “Head Chef Isla”, for the child who insists on helping with the mince pies.

Personalised Christmas gifts for couples
Buying one present for two people is easier when it is something for the home they share, or a reminder of a moment they shared.
- A chopping board with their names. “The Walkers · Est. 2019” on a glass chopping board, with or without a photo. Practical enough to use every day.
- A pair of engraved photo coasters. Their favourite photo together, engraved into a pair of wooden coasters, with their first names on top and the date they met underneath.
- Passport holders for the next adventure. If they have a trip booked, two personalised passport holders with their names and the destination make a lovely surprise.
- Their wedding day in crystal. Newly married? A crystal photo block of the first dance, with the date in small type underneath.
- His and his, hers and hers, or his and hers pints. Two engraved pint glasses, one name on each. Order two single glasses if you want different names.
- Their first Christmas bauble. “Our First Christmas Married” or “Our First Christmas in Our New Home” on a photo bauble with the year.
Personalised gifts for friends and secret Santa
Secret Santa budgets are usually tight, so these focus on small, personal and a bit funny. If you are using a photo of a friend, a quick sense check that they will see the funny side is always wise.
- A keyring with an in-joke. A photo keyring with a picture from the night out nobody talks about, and a short line that only your group will understand.
- A tote for the book club friend. A personalised tote bag with “Emma’s Book Bag” or the name of your book club.
- The office mug. A photo mug with your colleague’s face and “Do Not Wash. Ever.” It will never go missing from the staff kitchen again.
- A single beer mat for the friend with a garden bar. One engraved wooden beer mat with their bar name. Small, solid and the right size for a secret Santa.
- A phone case starring their dog. A photo phone case with their pet in full colour. Find out their phone model without giving the game away.
- Reunion t-shirts. Planning a get-together in the new year? A personalised t-shirt with the group photo from your last trip and “Benidorm: The Sequel” is a gift and a plan in one.
Personalised stocking fillers
Stocking fillers are where personalisation really earns its keep. A small thing with a name on it beats a big thing without. See the full range of personalised stocking fillers.
- A ceramic tree decoration. The ceramic star, heart or round Christmas decoration with a name and year. Small enough for any stocking.
- A keyring with the family pet. The photo keyring in silver, gold or rose gold, with the cat looking suitably unimpressed.
- A single engraved coaster. One wooden photo coaster for a desk, with a photo and their name.
- A revision notebook for a teenager. An A5 notebook with “Revision Notes · Do Not Lose” and their name. Optimistic, but it might help.
- A slate coaster with a favourite view. A single photo slate coaster of their favourite walk, whether that is Stoodley Pike or somewhere much further afield.
Personalised gifts for the home
For anyone who has moved house this year, or is simply very proud of their kitchen. Our new home gifts have plenty more.
- Beer mats dated the year they moved in. A set of engraved beer mats with the house name or number on top and “Est. 2026” underneath.
- Their first home on slate. A photo of the front door on the day they got the keys, printed onto a photo slate with “Our first home · 2026”.
- A chopping board for the new kitchen. A glass chopping board with the house name or street, and a line such as “Made with love”.
- Coasters with the view from the window. A set of four slate coasters showing the view they fell in love with when they first viewed the house.
- A bespoke engraved piece. For something nobody else will have, talk to us about custom laser engraving. Our diode laser engraves wood, slate, leather and coated metal, so a house sign, a recipe board or a keepsake box are all possible.
Christmas ordering dates
Everything we make is made to order, so it is worth planning ahead. Here is how the timings work:
- Making: 1–3 working days. Every order is checked by a real person before it is engraved or printed.
- Delivery: 2–3 working days by Royal Mail, at a flat £4.99 for UK delivery.
- Last order date for Christmas: 15 December, Royal Mail permitting.
Royal Mail gets very busy in the second half of December, so our honest advice is to order as early as you can, especially if you are posting gifts on to family elsewhere in the country. If you are ordering lots of personalised items, or something bespoke through our custom engraving service, aim for late November or the first week of December to leave room for any back-and-forth on the design.
A few tips to avoid delays:
- Check spellings twice. We engrave and print exactly what you type, so names, dates and nicknames need to be right.
- Use the best photo you have. Clear, well-lit and close-up. If a photo looks too dark or blurry to work well, we will get in touch before we make anything, so keep an eye on your inbox.
- Know the phone model. For phone cases, the model has to be exact.
You can see everything festive in one place in our personalised Christmas gifts collection. Happy shopping, and merry Christmas from all of us at Laser & Ink.
