Laser Engraved Gifts

Laser engraved gifts have a quality that printing can't match: the design is marked into the material itself, so it is permanent and pleasingly tactile. We engrave every piece to order in our Sowerby Bridge workshop in the Calder Valley, near Halifax.

How we engrave

We use a diode laser, guided by your design, to burn lettering and images into the surface of the material. On wood, that gives warm shades of brown with the natural grain showing through. On glass, it leaves a crisp, frosted etch. For round items like pint glasses we use a rotary attachment, which turns the glass as it is engraved so text wraps evenly around the curve.

Our engraved gifts

Engraved wooden gifts

Our wooden mats are 95mm round and 7mm thick, with four rubber feet underneath. The photo engraved wooden coaster turns a favourite photo into a sepia-toned engraving with text above and below. The engraved wooden beer mat pairs a classic pub design with a bar or family name. Because every piece of wood is different, no two come out exactly alike.

Engraved glass

The engraved pint glass takes up to three lines of text, such as a name, a title and a date. It's a classic for best men, birthdays and Father's Day.

Engraved or printed?

Engraving is single-tone and permanent, which suits names, dates, logos and high-contrast photos. If you want full colour, our printed range covers mugs, photo gifts and more. Honest note: our listed keyrings and tumblers are printed, not engraved.

Bespoke laser engraving

Have something specific in mind, such as a logo on a batch of coasters, a design for a club or event, or a one-off idea? Our custom laser engraving service handles bespoke work, and local customers around Sowerby Bridge, Halifax and the Calder Valley are welcome to get in touch to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of laser do you use?

We engrave on a diode laser, with a rotary attachment for round items such as pint glasses.

Will engraved photos be in colour?

No. Laser engraving produces a single tone: shades of brown on wood and a frosted etch on glass.

Is laser engraving permanent?

Yes. The design is marked into the material itself, so it won’t peel or wash off.

Can you engrave something that isn’t in your shop?

Often, yes. Tell us what you have in mind through our custom laser engraving service and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
