Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you buy from this website. Please read them before ordering. They don’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. About us

This website is run by Laser & Ink, 22 Breck Lea, Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX6 1BS. Email: grant@laserandink.co.uk.

2. Your order

1. When you place an order, you’ll receive an email acknowledging it. Our contract with you starts when we send that order confirmation.
2. Every design is checked by a person before it’s made. If we can’t make your order (for example, because a photo is unsuitable or the design breaks section 4 below), we’ll contact you and, if we can’t resolve it, refund you in full.
3. You can ask to change or cancel your order until we start making it. Once production has started, we can’t cancel it.

3. Prices and payment

1. Prices are shown in pounds sterling.
2. UK delivery is £4.99 per order, shown before you pay.
3. Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
4. If we’ve made an obvious pricing error, we’ll contact you before making your order and you can choose to cancel for a full refund.

4. Personalisation and your content

1. We make exactly what you enter. Your text is engraved or printed exactly as typed, including spelling, punctuation, capitals and dates. Checking it is your responsibility, and you’ll confirm it’s correct by ticking a box at checkout.
2. The on-screen preview is a guide. Colours, engraving shade and exact positioning may differ slightly from the screen.
3. You must own, or have permission to use, any photo, logo or artwork you upload. By uploading it, you confirm this and give us permission to use it solely to make your order.
4. We can refuse or cancel any order with content that we reasonably consider offensive, unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s rights, including copyrighted images and trademarked logos used without permission. If we do, we’ll refund you in full.
5. Photos that are low resolution, dark or blurry may not reproduce well. We’ll tell you if we think there’s a problem, but if you ask us to go ahead anyway, we can’t accept a return because of image quality.

5. Natural materials

Wood and slate are natural. Grain, colour, knots, texture and the way they take an engraving vary from piece to piece. This natural variation is not a fault.

6. Delivery

1. We deliver to UK addresses only.
2. Items are made in 1–3 working days and sent by Royal Mail, usually arriving 2–3 working days after dispatch. These times are estimates.
3. Our last recommended order date for Christmas is 15 December, Royal Mail permitting.
4. Responsibility for the goods passes to you when they’re delivered to the address you gave.
5. Please make sure your address is correct. If a parcel is returned because of an incorrect address, we may charge to re-send it.

7. Cancellation rights

Personalised goods are made to your specification, so the 14-day right to cancel does not apply to them, under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

8. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

1. If your item arrives damaged, faulty, misprinted, or isn’t what you ordered because of our mistake, we’ll replace it or give you a refund.
2. Please tell us within 14 days of delivery by emailing grant@laserandink.co.uk with your order number and a photo of the problem. Reporting quickly helps us sort it out fast; it doesn’t limit your legal rights.
3. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which says goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

9. Our liability

1. We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable.
2. We only supply products for domestic and private use. If you buy for business purposes, we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
3. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.

10. Events outside our control

We’re not responsible for delays caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as postal strikes, severe weather or supplier shortages. If this happens, we’ll let you know and, if the delay is long, you can cancel for a refund of anything not yet made.

11. Your personal data

We use your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Complaints and disputes

If you’re unhappy with anything, please email grant@laserandink.co.uk and we’ll do our best to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies.
