Laser Engraving in Halifax
Looking for laser engraving in Halifax? Our workshop is in Sowerby Bridge, a few miles south-west of Halifax town centre, so we’re about as local as it gets without being on your street. We engrave wood, slate, glass and coated metal, and make personalised gifts to order for customers across Calderdale.
A Calder Valley workshop on Halifax’s doorstep
Laser & Ink is a small, independent maker. Everything is engraved or printed by hand on our own machines in Sowerby Bridge, and every design is checked by a real person before it’s made. There’s no shop or showroom: it’s a working workshop, which is how we keep things personal and our prices sensible.
For Halifax customers that means two easy options. Most orders go out by Royal Mail for a flat £4.99, made in 1–3 working days and usually with you 2–3 working days after dispatch. For custom and business orders, you can also collect from Sowerby Bridge by arrangement, which saves the postage and is only a short drive from town.
What Halifax customers can order
For pubs, bars, cafés and independent businesses
Halifax has a busy mix of independent bars, cafés, restaurants and small shops, and engraved wooden beer mats are ideal for them. Our mats are 95mm round, 7mm thick, with four rubber feet underneath, so they sit flat, don’t scratch tables and last far longer than cardboard. They’re a great fit for a bar counter, a taproom or a café table, engraved with your logo or name.
- Branded coasters and beer mats in small batches. ask for a custom engraving quote.
- Small wooden or slate signs, table numbers and shelf labels.
- Engraved glassware for staff gifts, competitions or a special event.
For gifts and celebrations
If you just want something personal for someone, our online shop has plenty that’s made right here:
- Photo engraved wooden coasters – your photo with a line of text above and below.
- Home bar beer mats – name your home bar, with an “Est.” year.
- Engraved pint glasses – ideal for best men, ushers and milestone birthdays.
- Browse all our laser engraved gifts or wedding gifts.
Getting a quote
For anything that isn’t in the shop, tell us what you’d like engraved, how many you need and your deadline. You’ll get a price within 1–2 working days, and a digital proof to approve before anything goes on the laser. Use the form on our custom laser engraving page, or get in touch through our contact page.
We’ll also be straight with you about what our laser can and can’t do. It’s a 10W diode laser, which is excellent on wood, slate, leather, glass and coated metals, but it can’t engrave clear acrylic or bare stainless steel without a marking spray. If you’re not sure about a material, just ask. If you’d like to know more about the process, read how laser engraving works.
Frequently asked questions
How far is your workshop from Halifax?
We’re in Sowerby Bridge, a few miles south-west of Halifax town centre. It’s a workshop rather than a shop, so collection is by arrangement only.
Can I collect my order instead of having it posted?
For custom and business orders, yes. We’ll agree a collection time in Sowerby Bridge once your order is ready. Shop orders are sent by Royal Mail for £4.99. If you’d like to collect a shop order, email grant@laserandink.co.uk to ask.
Can you engrave our bar or café logo onto coasters?
Yes, as long as it’s your logo or you have permission to use it. Vector files (SVG, PDF or AI) are ideal, but a clear PNG or JPG is fine, and we can redraw a logo if needed.
Is there a minimum order?
No. We’re happy to make a single bespoke piece as well as a small batch run for a business or event.
