Care Instructions for Your Personalised Gifts
Engraving is permanent and our sublimation prints are bonded into the surface rather than sitting on top, so with a little care your gift should look good for years. Here’s how to look after each type of product.
Drinkware

For bottles and tumblers, we recommend warm soapy water and a soft cloth or bottle brush. Avoid scourers and abrasive cleaners on the printed outside, and don’t put them in the microwave or freezer. Leave lids off to dry fully.
Although mugs are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing if you want the print to stay as bright as possible for as long as possible.
Coasters, mats and boards
Engraved wooden coasters and beer mats
Wipe clean with a damp cloth. They’re not dishwasher safe, and we recommend you don’t soak them or leave them sitting in water. Dry them off after wiping and they’ll last for years. Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary from piece to piece.
Photo coasters (hardboard)
Our photo coaster sets wipe clean. We recommend a soft damp cloth and no soaking.
Slate coasters and photo slates
Slate coasters wipe clean. For photo slates, which are for display, we recommend an occasional dust with a soft dry cloth. Slate edges are natural and can be a little rough, and slate can chip if dropped, so we recommend handling it with care.
Glass chopping boards
Our glass chopping boards are hand wash and heat resistant. Your design is printed on the underside, so knives can’t scratch it off. We recommend you avoid scraping the printed underside with scourers.
Clothing and fabric
- T-shirts and hoodies: wash inside out at 30°C.
- Aprons: machine wash at 30°C.
- Tote bags, Christmas stockings and Santa sacks: we recommend a gentle cool hand wash or spot clean when needed.
For all printed fabrics, we recommend you don’t tumble dry, don’t use bleach, and don’t iron directly on the print. If you need to iron, turn the item inside out or put a cloth over the design.
Jewellery and keyrings
For photo necklaces and metal keyrings, we recommend:
- taking necklaces off before swimming, showering or bathing
- keeping them away from perfume, hairspray and cleaning products
- wiping with a soft dry cloth
- storing necklaces in their pouch when you’re not wearing them
Crystal photo blocks
Our crystal photo blocks are heavy, polished optical crystal. We recommend dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth, or a cloth lightly dampened with water for fingerprints. Avoid abrasive cleaners, and keep the block away from the edge of shelves: crystal can chip if knocked.
Everything else
- Phone cases: we recommend wiping with a soft damp cloth and avoiding solvents or alcohol wipes on the printed panel.
- Notebooks and pencil cases: the printed notebook covers wipe clean. We recommend spot cleaning pencil cases.
- Christmas baubles: store them wrapped in tissue between Christmases so the print isn’t scratched.
- Passport holders: we recommend wiping clean with a soft damp cloth.

Are your mugs dishwasher safe?
Yes. Our photo mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe. Hand washing keeps the print at its brightest for longest.
Can I put an engraved wooden coaster in the dishwasher?
No. Engraved wooden coasters and beer mats are wipe clean only. The heat and water in a dishwasher can damage the wood.
Will the engraving on my pint glass wash off?
No. Laser etching is permanent. We recommend hand washing to keep the glass itself at its best.
